A message from Joan about our dear Pr. Allan Mcleod's passing away

This is just a quick message to some family and friends from a lifetime, to say that Allan beat us to glory... He went at 4 AM today, Wednesday. His potassium levels got too high, as the liver and kidneys weren’t able to handle things any more, and that high level stops the heart very quickly. So his year-long struggles with health problems have come to an end. I have to say that to see his struggles over, gives a sense of relief. It is hard to see those struggles getting harder and harder. The Lord knows why he chose to take him and not heal him, but in actuality, he is totally healed now with a brand new body. So lets give thanks for his life and also for his new body. He taught us a lot about following Jesus wholly, and that we want to continue to do.

We are thinking the funeral will be at Bethany next Tuesday or Wednesday. Will be busy here for some days, but we will have our time to sit down and “remember with thanksgiving” all the good times we had together. I think I am OK; really we have been almost to this point several times, and I feel like the practice runs made this easier. Nice to have David and Cheryl here, both close.

Thanks for all your prayers and support. Will find time to talk more later.

Love to all,

Joan McLeod.

A Man of God's legacy - Allan Hebert McLeod

This morning, Pr. Allan McLeod, my American grandfather, has passed away... to be with The Lord of Lords. He was a servant of the Lord during his peregrination on Earth and a kind of teacher of spirituality to our family.
He taught me so many spiritual lessons and prayed for me for such a long time... He (and Joan as well) helped me to be closer to God, seeking Him to know His will. They were used to confirm my ministry's call and to pray for my future wife. They gave me, before going back to the US, one of their beatiful pictures they had on their home walls. It was a photo of Minnehaha falls,in Minneapolis, the place where they got engaged. They gave me this and said: Richard, we're giving you this for we have been praying for your future wife, and this photo is a remider for you, that he will be faithfull to you in this area as well.
I'm wearing, right now, one of his jackets. He gave me one day before they returned to America. Our last days together in Brazil were so blessing and plesant. I remember helping them with the luggage and seeing a movie together, Flywheel, which they enjoyed very much. On that occasion they gave me a Leonard Ravenhill's book, Why Revival Tarries, which I started reading right away.
Pr. Allan McLeod left a precious legacy to many people and, particulary, for me and my family. we'll never forget him. May the Lord Jesus Christ fill Joan's life with His Holy and powerfull Spirit.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Overcoming Anxiety

Isaiah 41:10-14

Fear is a powerful emotion. It shows up without warning, tends to dominate our thoughts, and does not depart quickly. But as Christians, we have an even more powerful weapon to stop anxiety from overcoming us--the Word of God.

When anxiety strikes, key truths can help us stand firm. First, remember that God is sovereign over all circumstances and people (1 Chron. 29:11). When He decides to act, no leader, army, or nation can stand against Him. We may not understand why certain things happen, but we can know for sure that our Lord is still in control.

Next, keep in mind the promise that He causes all things to work for the good of those who love Him (Rom. 8:28). Just as the Father orchestrated the events of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection to accomplish our salvation, He also works circumstances for our good and His glory. The disciples didn't comprehend what Jesus was telling them about the future; nor could they initially see how His dying was beneficial. But in the end, they understood that God had carried out His plan of redemption through the crucifixion and resurrection.

We may be in the midst of hard times and wondering where the good is. Do not lose hope. God is sovereign and true to every one of His promises (2 Cor. 1:20).

Verses that proclaim God's sovereignty can help us overcome fear (Ps. 22:27-28). Studying the lives of saints like Abraham, Joseph, and the apostle Paul will remind us that God is mighty and He can use difficulties to bring about gain. As we believe His Word, our anxiety will be replaced by His divine peace (Gal. 5:22).
