"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." Psalm 51:17
Note: David said that God receives brokenness as the only acceptable sacrifice. The previous verse states that God does not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The reason for this is obvious: someone could give burnt offerings (or tithes, or church-work, etc.) without the heart being involved.
To Think About: Brokenness brings healing, life, revival, rescue, and true prayer. So, we see that becoming broken before the Lord is indispensable.
